Independence Day 2006

Another three-day weekend is over. We commemorated Independence Day thankfully, it seems, peacefully. Of course, there were the usual rallies against corruption and against the unpopular little president, but so far she still has to announce another state of emergency or whatever her office calls it in order to invoke emergency magic powers.
My sister Joy visited me today and so in stead of staying at the apartment, we decided to unwind at the SM Mall of Asia. I should have listened to my guts and went to Ayala Center instead because it was as if all of Pasay and Manila trooped to that mall. It was crowded. We had a hard time going back to Manila due to the volume of passengers leaving the mall and that there were too few FXs and cabs willing to go all the way to the reclaimed area to pick up passengers. Maybe in due time there’ll be more PUVs ferrying people to and from the mall. But for now, it’s best to not go there if you don’t have your own means of transportation.
Mabuhay ang mga Pinoy! Pero, sabi nga ni Gerry Kaimo, hindi lahat.
