Got my Google Spreadsheets invite
I want to make a review of Google Spreadsheets since I received an invite from them yesterday. However, it’s nearly impossible to do anything online today given the crappy quality of Smart Wifi/Bro’s service. It takes five times as long to get a decent connection and then dies out after just a few seconds.
So while I still have to do my very late review of Google Spreadsheets, here’s an alternative web-based, AJAX-enriched spreadsheet program that’s very easy to use and very easy to share. I’m quoting my entire post at PinoyWeb2.com:
While waiting for Google Spreadsheets to bestow test accounts upon ordinary mortals, there are other available web-based spreadsheets that they can start using. One of these nifty products is Zohosheet.
To use Zohosheet, you must create an account. Registration takes less than a minute (depending on your typing speed) since all you have to do is key in your preferred user name, email address and password—no need to verify your email address. While some web services may be queasy about not having to verify email addresses or typing verification codes, registration with Zoho is a breeze.
After setting up account, the user will be immediately brought to the spreadsheet where fun actually starts: upload an old spreadsheet created off-line or make a new one. Zoho recognizes spreadsheets in .xls and .xcv and other OpenOffice spreadsheet formats. It also allows for creation of pie, line and bar graphs. Once a spreadsheet is created, it can be exported to Excel and HTML formats.
(Click image for large version)My auditor friends will certainly love its Excel formulas, such as math, trigo, date & time, statistical, logical, etc. AutoSum works by highlighting a range of cells and hitting the Sum/Sigma button.
The created spreadsheets may be stored in the account’s folder, published or made searchable by adding tags. The most popular tags that Zoho memberes have created are on the site’s home page.
