Voltron on Youtube
Youtube is like a box of chocolates - you never know what video you will stuble upon. The most popular video sharing site also serves as a vehicle for getting reacquainted with one’s childhood favorites. While doing a random search on the site for anime videos, I found an introductory video of my favorite anime when I was still a kid: Voltron - or Lion Voltron or Voltron of the Far Universe based on the Hundred Beast King Five Lion by Hyakujūō Goraion. The original Voltron offering features five lions that form into a giant fighting robot called Voltron. The lions are commandeered by five pilots - Keith, Lance, Sven, Pidge, and Hunk. Princess Allura eventually replaced the wounded Sven, thus adding a romantic angle with the team’s captain, the pilot of the Black Lion, Keith. Adding the third dimension in the romance is the blue-skinned Lothor.
